Hi,

We are running SUSE SLES 11 SP2 on AWS EC2. We are creating instances on demand for users. Each instance has a specific pem key that is generated when the instance is created. We offer the opportunity to the user to download the PEM key so that he can connect to his instance. Many of our users are using Putty to connect so they need a key in PPK format. We would like to be able to convert the key from PEM to PPK so that user can directly use the key and do not have to use puttygen to convert the PEM key into PPK. On some other distributions of Linux there is a puttygen command which does not seem to exist on SUSE SLES.
Is there a way to achieve the same thing ? Is there a puttygen executable available somewhere ?

Hi,

you can find SLE putty packages on software.opensuse.org after selecting to show unstable packages. As the key converter is not especially harmful for system stability, I for one wouldn't mind using that.
