Hi Everyone,

I have installed SLES11 SP2 on a machine. But it's network card is not detected by the system. In yast it says network card is not configurable and it maybe because of a firmware issue. Please help me out because it's an really urgent matter.

The network card is: Ethernet Controller: Atheros AR8151 v2.0

How to solve this issue. Appreciate your immediate assistance.

Hi
Is the package kernel-firmware installed?

Can you look at the output from the dmesg command, it should tell the
exact issue and post the information back here (please use code tags
for the output from and commands).

Hi lash04,

in addition to Malcom's suggestions: If you see that there was no driver found for that card, then telling us the PCI ID of the card would be helpful to determine if a driver is available in i.e. SLES11SP3, the currently latest version of SLES11.

Jens
