Anyone run into an issue where tcp seems to be disabled? Not sure if
it's a surface issue or just windows 8.

Any ideas how to get tcp working again?

cmd prompt administrator
netsh winsock reset catalog and press enter
netsh int ip reset reset.log and press enter
restart computer

So my response to Steve's comment is...
