I have a Intel Grantly structure MB.

2 ports USB 3.0 onboard from PCH C612.
I have installed SUSE 11.3, I found the USB 3.0 Port only support USB2.0.

When I keyin #usb-devices to see the version of USB, It showed Ver=2.10 in SUSE 11.3

But, In the RHEL 6.5 which could be Ver 3.0.

Is that a limitation for SUSE 11.3 OS??

As SUSE offical web said, USB 3.0 support for Intel(R) 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family.

Hi
There is no SUSE 11.3, there is openSUSE 11.3? There is SLE 11 SP3... is
this what you mean?

The xhci module is present in SLED 11 SP3;

/sbin/modinfo xhci_hcd
filename: /lib/modules/3.0.101-0.46-default/kernel/drivers/usb/host/xhci-hcd.ko
license: GPL
author: Sarah Sharp
description: 'eXtensible' Host Controller (xHC) Driver
srcversion: E9617F7C1F687CA55D9595E
alias: pci:v*d*sv*sd*bc0Csc03i30*
depends: usbcore
supported: yes
vermagic: 3.0.101-0.46-default SMP mod_unload modversions
signer: SUSE Linux Enterprise Secure Boot Signkey
sig_key: 3F:B0:77:B6:CE:BC:6F:F2:52:2E:1C:14:8C:57:C7:77:C7 :88:E3:E7
sig_hashalgo: sha256
parm: link_quirk:Don't clear the chain bit on a link TRB (int)

Can you confirm if it's SLE and not openSUSE?

Does the system show a USB 3.0 root hub?

lsusb | grep "3.0"

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub

Yes! My OS is SLE 11 SP3

I have checked the BIOS xHCI Mode and it was enable.
1. When I connected the USB 3.0 device and then command #usb-devices to see the device information, which showed Ver=2.10
2. When I connected the USB 3.0 device and then command #hdparm -t /dev/sdx to see the USB speed, which showed max 39.57 MB/sec (but the same device can be showed max 106.42 MB/sec on RHEL 6.5 OS)

Hi

Does anyone know this situation?
My Hardware list:
CPU: E5-2660v3
PCH: C612
USB 3.0: on-board 2 PORTS

I wonder know if the SLE 11 SP3 support the USB 3.0? or need any tool to adjust? Thanks!
