View Full Version : Having trouble getting boxes registered with suse.com...

Having trouble getting some of our boxes registered with suse.com and then having them show up in our registered system list. Suse 11sp3.

I tried reregistering a box which didn't show up in our registered system list with the following script :

#!/bin/sh

zypper ls
zypper removeservice nu_novell_com
rm /etc/zypp/credentials.d/NCCcredentials
rm /var/cache/SuseRegister/lastzmdconfig.cache

HOSTNAMWE=`/bin/hostname`

zypper ls

suse_register -a email="my_email" -a hostname="$HOSTNAME" -a regcode-sles="our_code"
zypper refresh-services -r

zypper ls

and the box gets registered, but still does not show up on the support website?

If the box is registered you may just need to wait for some kind of
caching or something on the website side to help out. Alternatively, call
the CSRs and see if they can check your registration there. That should
not require a normal SR since it's looking at their side of things. I
think customerresolution@novell.com is an e-mail account for similar
things too.

Ah, hadn't had a chance to check today until now, all of the boxes I attempted to reregister yesterday are now indeed showing up, guess I'll wait a couple of hours after working on the next box and see how that goes.
