Good Morning all,

after rebooting a server which by mistake had a disk removed i noticed that all LVs where started fine.

but afterwhile i soon discovered the missing disk and i noticed that the LVs where indeed activated but in partial mode.

i also discovered that /etc/init.d/boot.lvm contains

echo "Activating LVM volume groups..."
/sbin/vgchange -a y --sysinit --partial $LVM_VGS_ACTIVATED_ON_BOOT

why SUSE choose to enable LVs in partial mode with the possibility to corrupt data afterwards?
assuming that there is no simple way to avoid partial volumes being activated without editing the above line...

Any comments are welcomed.

Regards,
Michael.
