I am getting random file access problems on my network. A user clicks on a file it does not open and times out after 90 seconds. During that time it disconnects the user from all networks and shares. Once timed out the connection is re-established. Other users can access the file. It is not just one file but random files across the network. It is random but it is effecting production. I have scanned for viruses. My server is fully patched. Any help would be appreciated.

It would be useful to include some information about the version of SLE
in use, and what you're using for sharing files (NFS, Samba, something
else), along with some general configuration information.

Sorry about that.. We are running SLES 11 OES 2015. It is attached to a DELL MD 3220 through a SAS 6GB/s cable. We are fully patched. This upgrade was done about two months ago. The Server is a DELL R320 8GB RAM 2 X 300 SAS 10K RAID 1 for the OS.

If files are being shared using NCP, then you'll probably want to ask
this in the Novell OES forums rather than here.

It sounds like an intermittent connectivity problem, so I'd also be
inclined to look for information about whether or not it's isolated to a
specific client PC, or if there's a common networking component between
the affected workstations and the server (say, a switch, for example).
