I don't see that the version of "tc" on SUSE 12 supports fq-codel yet, is there a time table as to when it might get this support ?

How are you checking this? It's provided by the iproute2 package which
does include a man page for tc-fq_codel.

I can see that the iproute2 packages in SLES12 and SLES12 SP1 are
version 3.12 but the one currently in the SLES12 SP2 open beta[1] is 4.4.

I was reviewing the ubuntu tc man page and saw the support for it there - so i figured that SUES would have it here as well. The fact that's in iproute2 is good to know - thank you.

My comment about the iproute2 package was that it includes the
tc-fq_codel man page but it also provides the tc command.

If you haven't already, I'd suggest installing SLES12 SP1 (or possibly
SP2 public beta) on a machine and seeing if it does what you want. If
not we can then follow up here.

Actually just learning about the method with regards to bufferbloat and wanted to see if in fact SUSE had it available. That way I could do some research to see if it is something we need to look into more. I did find the info on SLES 12 - we run SP0 and SP1 - don't have time to deal with SP2 yet. Maybe around Christmas.

Thanks again.
