As Malcolm said, a reboot after installing all the packages is what's supposed to happen. The machine should then boot from the harddisk and the SLED install continue. If the install isn't continuing after the reboot, well there's some sort of problem.

You say you're installing 'SLED 11'. Is it just 'SLED 11' or is it SLED 11 SP2? If you're not using SP2 then get SP2 and try that. Every SP release provides new hardware support.

I would expect there to be a jumper somewhere on the motherboard which can be used to revert the BIOS to default settings.
