# Authentication methods

Hi,

If LDAP authentication is enabled, the local admin can no longer be in use?  
In case the password of the local admin is lost, how it can be reset? I don’t see option to reset admin password from the UI.

One authentication method is enabled at a time. If you turn on LDAP then local is no longer enabled and there is no “local admin password” anymore. The user who enables authentication is automatically an Admin and can add others. If you forget the password for a user you reset them in LDAP.
