# Cannot deploy agent without nodegroups. Add a nodegroup

Cannot deploy agent without nodegroups. Add a nodegroup.

We initially created a aws eks cluster having 3 nodes with rancher hosted EKS with rancher version 2.3.4.  
Our rancher server crashed couple of days back and we lost all configuration .We have setup a new rancher server with version 2.5.5 Now we try to import cluster it says   
 **Cannot deploy agent without nodegroups. Add a nodegroup.** and always remains in waiting state .

Please help us here we wanted to Reregister the cluster back to rancher ona new server
