# Can't create Rancher extension

I am trying to follow the documentation here [Getting Started | Rancher UI DevKit](https://rancher.github.io/dashboard/extensions/extensions-getting-started) to create an extension.  
I am running on Ubuntu 20.04 connected over ssh.  
I have nodejs version 17.9 installed.  
Yarn is installed the way it mentions in the documentation.

After running the command ‘yarn dev’ the command fails as shown in the screenshots

What can be done to fix this?
