# Fail configuring rancher 1.6 CLI

Hi,  
I’ve followed the instructions from here:  
[https://rancher.com/docs/rancher/v1.2/en/cli/](https://rancher.com/docs/rancher/v1.2/en/cli/)  
I downloaded the cli package, extracted it, ran ./rancher config, typed in the three variables (url, acess key, secret key), but then when I tried to run `rancher docker ps`, it just sys:  
FATA[0000] --host is required  
Not exactly specific. I also tried ./rancher --host 192.168.80.77 (with and without :8080), but to no avail. It says “Not found: 192.168.80.77:800” etc.  
I’m not sure what I’m missing.

I realised afterwards that it was referring to the host, not to the rancher server. The CLI works.
