# Install ZFS service help

I am trying to follow the docs [here](https://rancher.com/docs/os/v1.2/en/storage/using-zfs/) however at step one it says to enable the service. However after listing them there is not a ZFS service to enable.

FATA[0000] zfs is not a valid service

How do you install the service to begin with? If I can figure it out I will update the docs with the solution.

ZFS supported was dropped in v1.4 due to issues, you can track progress here: [https://github.com/rancher/os/issues/2299](https://github.com/rancher/os/issues/2299)
