# Internal DNS rancher LAN

Hello everyone,

Is there an INTERNAL DNS already present in rancher?

I found a git project but I don’t really understand how could I implement it.

I found nothing in the forum and in the rancher doc about an internal DNS.

`rancher-dns` is runs in each Network Agent and is what handles all the DNS requests from all the containers. While it could be the basis for an external (to Rancher) internal (to you) DNS server it is not particularly suited to that. PRs welcome for a community-catalog template that deployes a DNS server like bind or dnsmasq, and/or a `external-dns` driver that configures it.
