# Macvlan network driver in Rancher

Hello Rancher devs,

I was just banging my head against the wall when trying to provide a Docker compose yml file to a new application stack that defines a macvlan based network.

It appears to me that Rancher flat out doesn’t support macvlan since I can deploy easily using the cli and docker-compose.

Why doesn’t Rancher support macvlan? It isn’t something new and it’s fully supported in Docker. I was even able to provision a container using the macvlan driver with Portainer.

Your response would be appreciated.
