# monitor color calibration...

I have one user that needs to have the colors on their computer and
monitor match the colors on a computer and projector. Anyone have any
recommendations for how to achieve this?

Hi
Make sure the Monitor and Projector are running the same color (as in
K) setting, maybe try [http://www.quickgamma.de/indexen.html](http://www.quickgamma.de/indexen.html)

Reduce the brightness on the monitor on the PC. The light levels will be
very different. If they are in different rooms, temporarily get them in
the same room so you can at least eyeball something. Windows 7 has some
colour management that is much better than XP. Search in the control panel
for Colour. You can also hire devices that will create a profile that is
specific to the monitor. Where I work we use EFI Colour Profiler for
Monitors software to do this for our production printing customers. PC
displays are no where near accurate because “vivid” sells screens. The
lights in the room make a huge difference too.

At home I am using F.Lux software which is free and reduces the blue as
night gets darker so I sleep better. Just an FYI about a nifty tool that
is kind of related…
