# Patch Servers

Hi,

We are looking to use SLES 12 SP1 to host an internal service, the service is sensitive and will run on part of the network that has no access to the internet. We want to install patches so we can open a pinhole in the firewall to allow the server to connect to the internet to download these patches. What are the hosts/ports that we need to open to allow the registration and patching process to work?

The update and registration channels are https (port 443), will you be going through a proxy?

Hi,

I dont believe the plan is to use a proxy, however there is a request to open open up access to the specific hosts that it needs, am I right in thinking that is just:  
[LIST]  
[_][scc.suse.com](http://scc.suse.com)  
[_][updates.suse.com](http://updates.suse.com)  
[/LIST]

AFAIK just those ones, however updates is on a cdn, so might have to see where it’s going in your locale.
