# php5 version mismatches?

I’m trying to install the PHP devel files on my SUSE 10 SP 3/OES2
server so
that I can compile and add an extension to PHP.
In YaST2, when I do a search on PHP, I have several packages that are
highlighted in Red (which I am assuming are updated packages, are
they?). PHP is installed but PHP5-DEVEL was not.
PHP5 installed version information: 5.2.14-0.16.2
PHP5-DEVEL package available in YaST2: 5.2.5-9.20
If I attempt to install the PHP5-DEVEL package I receive the
following:
Dependency Conflict:
This would invalidate atom:php5-devel-…
atom:php5-devel-5.2.14-0.16.2.i586 has unfulfilled requirements
Conflict Resolution:
delete atom:php5-devel-5.2.14-0.16.2.i586
PHP devel files do NOT appear to be installed on this server.
How do I get the “php5-devel-5.2.14-0.16.2.i586” package installed?

Can you check in YaST to see who the ‘vendor’ is. Are you using the SLE
SDK for the php files?

Thanks for the reply!
This server is a SUSE 10.3 server with OES2 added. I have done nothing
more with this than install the software and keep up with the updates.
I have not added any additional repositories.
I am not sure where I find “vendor” in YaST.
The installation sources are:
Novell Open Enterprise Server 2 SP2 CD
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP3 CD
and 2 Novell update repositories.
Is there some way to determine what this source of this updated PHP
was?

somewhat similar in SLES 10 SP3 to see the vendor and where it came

Its REALLY similar, the vendor is: SUSE LINUX Products GmbH,
Nuernberg, Germany (The same as in your screen shot).
I am sure that the original install was PHP5 version 5.2.5-9.20 but a
subsequent update from the repository updated to: 5.2.14-0.16.2
I don’t understand why SUSE (Novell) provides an updated PHP5 rpm
(5.2.14-0.16.2) but only provides an older version of PHP5-DEVEL
(5.2.5-9.20).
I have searched on the internet sites for “.rpm” files trying to find
this PHP-DEVEL version. I can get close but can not find the SAME
version. Might there be a different repository for “SUSE LINUX Products
GmbH, Nuernberg, Germany” then provided by Novell themselves?

Hi
If you download the DVD1 iso image only for your arch here;
[http://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=zpFecfuDXqI~](http://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=zpFecfuDXqI~)
DVD2 is just the src rpms and not needed (unless your wanting the
source rpms of course).
Then save the iso image to the server and then use YaST Add on products
by selecting the ‘add’ and point to the iso image, it should then add
the necessary repositories for updates as well.
The other option is to check on your Novell Customer Center select ‘My
Products’ → ‘Mirror Credentials’ and add manually (again via YaST) for
the SLE10-SDK-SP3 repositories and add the Username and Password at the
top of the list.
