Hi All
I want to install a postfix server by using SLES15SP4
and I find a useful document , although it for opensuse.

[en.opensuse.org/Mail\_server\_HOWTO](http://en.opensuse.org/Mail_server_HOWTO)

but this has some commands , I am confused.
Question-1
like Aliases section …it has 2 command scrip

db\_type=$(postconf default\_database\_type)
db\_type=${db\_type##\* }

Whether I type these 2 command in linux command prompt or need vi /etc/postfix/main.cf to copy & post them ?

thanks!!

Wencheng,

HI @eirikur_ingibergsson
Yesterday, I re-test this command and after run single command I run echo $db\_type to check what value.

db\_type=$(postconf default\_database\_type)
When echo $db\_type will output “default\_database\_type = lmdb”
db\_type=${db\_type##\* }
This time echo $db\_type will output “lmdb”
So these commands go get DB type to be use by next command
postconf “sender\_canonical\_maps = ${db\_type}:/etc/postfix/sender\_canonical”

it will change to sender\_canonical\_maps = lmdb:/etc/postfix/sender\_canonica
