Yes SLES 11.2 for VMware is a version of SLES specifically tailored to VMware, that is to run a SLES VM. We are running version 11.2 on ESXi 5.1 Here are some links for this version. From the FAQ: W h y i s t h e p r o d u c t c a l l e d a n “ e x t e n s i o n ” ? The product is called an extension because it is an add-on product to SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11, and it “extends” the capabilities of the server operating system. You need both SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension to set up highly available Linux clusters. Paid subscriptions to both are also required to get technical support and maintenance for your clustered Linux servers. Thanks ---

Whether it makes sense to do so is a matter of some debate between the HA proponents and the VMWare proponents. Hi, I have a vmware esx 5.1 and I have a virtual machine with SLES 11 sp2 for vmware. Novell offers SLES 11 for vmware with a valid licence of vmware and it provide access to upgrades on the online repositories. I wonder if I can download and install the ha extension on my sles 11 with my licence. I am reading that ha extension is based on open source software, but we have to paid for the support and it’s upgrade, but Can I download and install without support (free)? I would have 2 vm of SLES 11 sp for vmware with one apache server of each one, in a cluster active/active. The apache only work for front end. For example: ``` VIRTUAL IP ADDRES(192.168.1.1) / \\ ``` SERVER1(192.168.1.2) SERVER2(192.168.1.3) ``` | / \\ | ``` Apache Tomcat Server1 Apache Tomcat Server2 Could you help me, please?? ---
