# VPN connection

Hi Forums!
I would like to try setting up a PPTP VPN, pre-shared key IPSEC medium(AH) DES, 3DES, AES VPN network, which, is the connection the guys use a work.
I;ve tried installing anything related to VPN in Yast, but I can’t see a program client anywhere. Can someone please direct me to current setup instructions for how to connect?

In bottom right of the screen (or top right if you’re using GNOME or GNOME Classic) click the area that contains the network/volume/power symbol. In the menu that opens you should see an entry for your current network connection. Click it, and in the sub-menu that opens click …settings. A new window should open, click the + sign, select VPN, enter whatever is appropriate in the various fields.

pardon me - _which one_ is it that you want? PPTP or IPsec? The list makes me believe that you’re actually not looking for PPTP, since cutting that single acronym out of the sentence makes it sound technically correct 😉

First things first, which version of SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop
(SLED) are you using? Please post the output from “cat /etc/\*release”.

I assumed SLED 12 for my reply since that’s what they’ve been using in all their other posts.

I have tried Ivacy VPN for secured browsing and I had a positive experience with it because it was free and gave me military-grade encryption.
