Hi Team,
We have a 5-node SUSE KVM cluster, and we perform host patching by migrating guest VMs to other nodes and patching one host at a time. After patching one of the nodes, it was unable to rejoin the existing cluster due to a DLM version mismatch.
Virtualization layer patching is becoming challenging. Sometimes the patched node is able to rejoin the cluster without issues, but at other times we face version mismatch problems (especially related to DLM), which prevent the node from joining.
We are currently unable to identify a consistent solution to patch the KVM hosts without impacting the guest VMs or cluster stability.
Has anyone faced a similar issue?
What is the recommended approach or best practice for patching SUSE KVM cluster nodes (especially when DLM/cluster stack versions differ)?
Please help on this.
Thanks in advance.
