I’m currently running Rancher 2.5.8, which is managing a Kubernetes cluster, and I’m planning an upgrade to the latest supported Rancher version. Based on the official documentation, it seems that the recommended upgrade path requires going through each minor release step-by-step.
My main question is:
Do I also need to upgrade through every patch version within each minor release, or is it supported to jump directly to the latest patch of each minor?
I also understand that Kubernetes versions supported by Rancher may change across minor releases, so I might upgrade the managed Kubernetes cluster(s) as needed — but at the moment I’m specifically trying to confirm the correct Rancher upgrade sequence.
Has anyone gone through a similar process or can confirm the officially supported path?
