Guidance Required on SLES 15 SP5 Trial Registration Code

We would like to seek your guidance regarding SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) trial registration.

In the SUSE Customer Center, we are currently able to see only the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 16 SP5 trial registration code. However, our requirement is for a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP5 evaluation/trial registration code.

Kindly advise on the following:

  • Whether the SLES 16 SP5 trial registration code can be used for SLES 15 SP5, or

  • How we can obtain the SLES 15 SP5 evaluation/trial registration code from the SUSE Customer Center.

Additionally, please confirm whether the SLES 15 SP5 trial subscription is sufficient to:

  • Enable the required repositories, and

  • Install and use the GNOME desktop environment

General support for SLES 15 SP5 ended 31 Dec 2024 you can try but doubt the repositories are online unless you had an LTSS subscription… LTSS support ends 31 Dec 2027.

The registration code should work with any SLES release, why not SLES 15 SP7?

Adding the Workstation extension module should give you the ability to install the GNOME desktop environment.

Note that with SLES16 only recently released there is currently no SLES16 SP5 - that would be in a few years time.
