Hi!
Have a SLES 11 SP1 for VMware, ZCM (~ ZENworks) 11.2.3 on top of it. I have a remote access to VMware (via NX installed on SLES). For upgrade ZCM 11.2.3 to 11.3 I need first to upgrade SLES 11 SP1 to SP2 (ZCM 11.2.3 does not support SLES 11 SP3), then ZCM 11.2.3 to 11.3 and, maybe, then SLES 11 SP2 to SP3. Yes, first must take a snapshot for SLES 11 current install, sure.
Any suggestions to accomplish this upgrade path Â
more smoothly? If any experiences.
More thanks,
Alar.

I’ve replied to a similar post in Novell’s ZENworks 11 Server Install
forum but you have two options for a remote upgrade of SLES11 SP1 to
SLES11 SP2 - YaST wagon and zypper. See
https://www.suse.com/documentation/sles11/book_sle_deployment/data/sec_update_sle11sp1.html
for a guide to updating regular (ie. not SLES for VMware) SLES11 SP1 to
SLES11 SP2 but the same logic applies although you should change
SLES11-SPx-* to SLES11-SPx-VMware-* to upgrade SLES for VMware.
Note ZCM 11.2.4 added support for SLES11 SP3 so if you wanted to upgrade
to SLES11 SP3 for VMware before upgrading ZCM 11.2.x to ZCM 11.3 you
could but that’s something for the Novell ZENworks forum.
