So I’m playing with the new SLES 16 iso and the new install process and I find that the new storage process is completely unacceptable. No option for advance or custom partitioning. Forcing the use of BTRFS and not being able to change it is just wrong. This will need to be changed before we will adopt this new version of SLES. I will try to use SLES 15 and create the partitions first and see if it will accept a existing custom partition scheme as all previous sles installs allowed.
@cisaksen Hi, I’m assuming the Agama installer, it does, just need to poke around a bit… Perhaps a read here may help clarify https://agama-project.github.io/docs/user/guides/storage
Defiantly has short comings. Finally figured out how to do somethings but others were problems. The installer is not by any means easier to use then the previous version of SLES installers when it comes to storage.
Yes, if using mdadm need to use the Agama shell.. but at least can inject a root user install password, then use ssh or web ui to access. Likewise can also look at the profiles.. like a mix of AutoYaST/Ignition/Combustion…
