I have installed SLES15 SP7 from ISO on a VMWare. When installation is ready I am not able to configure a Swedish keyboard (same problem with Norwegian and Danish keyboard). This was working on SLES15 SP6.
Iso used is from beginning of July.
Steps done…
- Installing SLES15SP7 on VMWare
- Select to install SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP7
- Selected module “Basesystem Module” and “Server Applications Module”
- Select System Role : Text Mode
- Selecting time zone Sweden
- Adding password for root and test Keyboard Layout ok
- Error at boot “[Failed] Failed to start Virtual Console Setup”
- After logon as root on terminal, I use YAST to configure Swedish keyboard, in test, special characters “åäö” are not shown, only see “[';”.
- After config the Swedish keyboard seams configured but not working.
command ‘locelectl status’ shows …

- Tried reboot, but still not correct keyboard characters.
