Where would be the best free place to find out who/what owns a skype
number? The number 661-748-0240 has called my land line 4 times in the
last couple days. Last night I got calls at 12:24am, 12:25am, and
5:30am. I answered one of them & got silence for a couple seconds,
then a dial tone. I'm a little irritated with who/whatever is bugging
me for no apparent reason.

ab sounds like they 'said':

So my response to ab's comment is...

Well obviously I was gonna check google. <G> Just wondering if anyone
in here had suggestions for sites, etc they have used that produced
good results w/o having to try and sign up to some site for $50 a year
or something to find the owner of a number.

Apparently that number is the 'generic' skype number outpulsed when a
skype user has not set up their callerid info. Sounds like this is a
growing problem, so I guess if it gets worse, I'll just see if I can
block that number.
