How to run Windows software on SLE?

How to install a windows software in such a way, it runs like a linux program.
Demand from my wife: If I should use this Linux, this software, stored on the server, need to run flawless.
How to do?
1.) I added the network drives via NFS, direct mount. (see article below network) so they appear as internal drives. This is needed since the software need access right after boot.
2) I installed Wine that is needed to simulate Windows. But start a program from wine takes some effort.
3) I installed "PlayOnLinux" This program offers a list of your installed windows programs and run them out of the box. Now, it works flawless.

  • Most people use Crossover Office.
Play on Linux is intended for video games. I'm glad you made it work for your application though.
