Thread: SMT Server - Mirror size

  1. SMT Server - Mirror size

I just have started working on SMT server on SLES 12 SP3 server. Since I have 14 SUSE Server(smt client) and all are running "SLES for SAP SP3" hence:

    Code:
    smt-repos -o
    .-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
    | Mirror? | ID | Type | Name | Target | Description | Can be Mirrored | Staging |
    +---------+----+------+------------------------+---------------+------------------------------------------+-----------------+---------+
    | Yes | 1 | nu | SLE-12-SAP-Updates | sle-12-x86_64 | SLE-12-SAP-Updates for sle-12-x86_64 | Yes | No |
    | Yes | 2 | nu | SLE-12-SP3-SAP-Updates | sle-12-x86_64 | SLE-12-SP3-SAP-Updates for sle-12-x86_64 | Yes | No |
    | Yes | 3 | nu | SLE-HA12-SP3-Pool | sle-12-x86_64 | SLE-HA12-SP3-Pool for sle-12-x86_64 | Yes | No |
    | Yes | 4 | nu | SLE-HA12-SP3-Updates | sle-12-x86_64 | SLE-HA12-SP3-Updates for sle-12-x86_64 | Yes | No |
    | Yes | 5 | nu | SLE12-SP3-SAP-Pool | sle-12-x86_64 | SLE12-SP3-SAP-Pool for sle-12-x86_64 | Yes | No |
    | Yes | 6 | nu | SLES12-SP3-Pool | sle-12-x86_64 | SLES12-SP3-Pool for sle-12-x86_64 | Yes | No |
    | Yes | 7 | nu | SLES12-SP3-Updates | sle-12-x86_64 | SLES12-SP3-Updates for sle-12-x86_64 | Yes | No |
    '---------+----+------+------------------------+---------------+------------------------------------------+-----------------+---------'
I only mirrored the SLE 12 SP3 repos, and it has consumed more then 12 GB yet. is it not too much ? obviously it will consume more till SLES for SAP SP 3 remains active(does not reach its EOL)

Also what would be the retention period of patch downloaded ? what if all of my servers upgraded to SP 4, then I have to delete the SP 3 mirrors manually or I can set the retention for the repos ?

    Hi
I would allow at least 20~25GB per product, just in case you need to mirror debug repositories, in any case would recommend using lvm, then can add space as required.

I use SuMA here and currently consume 40GB of 500GB with SLED 15, SLES 15 x86_64 and aarch64...
