If you can connect to the Internet, and your windows box are on the same
network, it would seem they're on the same network. What do you mean by
the "Windows wired network"? Is there a wireless alternative?

What is the end goal? What do you have working so far besides Internet
access? Can you ping from one box to another?

'SUSE 12.2' does not describe any currently released version of SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) the subject of this forum. The highest version is currently 12. There is a version 12.2 of openSUSE but it went End of Life over a year ago (https://en.opensuse.org/Lifetime).

If you're not sure what you're using the command
    Code:
    $ cat /etc/*release*
    will tell you.

If you're using openSUSE you want the openSUSE forums which are at https://forums.opensuse.org/ you can use the same username/password you used to post here to post there.

If you are using SLED, could you expand on exactly what you mean by 'Windows wired network' and exactly what it is you're trying to achieve?

    Re: Connecting to Windows Network

I have, together with SUSE service struggled some weeks in getting my SUSE SLED 12.2 Laptop on a Windows domain. For companies probably a usual situation.

    Domain setup:
    https://www.suse.com/documentation/s...ad_config.html
    https://www.suse.com/support/kb/doc?id=3794674

Above you find some tips how to do. SUSE is updating this documentation based on experiences with my case. Windows Server need to be prepared too, more than Windows demands.
Usually you need to try a little bit too.

I don't used SMB Information for user indentification since that made problems.
For the server access I produced bookmarks from manual link smb://server/drive. That work well.
